It owns and operates about 40 TV stations in 21 states and is involved in sports programming and promotion through its subsidiary, Raycom Sports. Raycom Sports produces syndicated sports shows and distributes sports programming such as NFL pre-season football.
The company was founded by Rick and Dee Ray in 1979, sold to Ellis Communications in 1994, and officially formed as Raycom Media in 1996.

It concerns me that a television station owned by you,WTOC, Savannah, Ga. is used as a training site for the U.S. Armys Psychological Operations personnel. Their motto "Persuade, Change , Influence leaves me to question just what are you trying to do to the people of Savannah. I then question just what is going on at your other stations. I feel the everyone in all your viewing areas should be made aware of your close association with PSYOPS and let them decide if they then want to continue getting their information from your stations. I know I do not. | |
