Michael H. Combs Marietta, Ohio | Posted at 1:48pm on Tuesday, December 29th, 2009 | Since receiving the E Mail from the times, telling me that my letter would not be printed, I have resubmitted the letter with the parts deleted that they did not agree with.
I also have sent Ms. Houtman, an E Mail, showing Right Wing Extremists, calling the president and other officials, Murderers.
I have asked for an explanation, why my letter did not get printed, when all I did, was question why people running for city council, would pay thousands of dollars to get the job, when it pay's a pittance. I guess that was just too far over the line, according to her.
Ms. Houtman, is a right wing hack. She knows nothing about freedom of the press. To her, freedom of the press, is only free, if she agrees with it.
It is time for Ogden News, to rid itself of such idiots, and put someone in charge, who does not want to control the news, just print it.

James Toomey Wheeling W.Va | Posted at 6:13am on Saturday, December 26th, 2009 | Don't get your selves all worked up about Ogden's Newspapers. It will just be a few more years, and the whole News Paper industry, will be a thing of the past.
I can't say I will miss it either.
Long live the Internet, where real news can be discussed by all, not just the corporate elite.

Gerald L. Tompkins Marietta Oh. | Posted at 3:26pm on Friday, December 11th, 2009 | I have lived in Marietta, for quite some time, and I agree with Mr. Combs. I have sent a letter to the editor on three different times, only to have them tell me it was not printable.
I have seen much worse stuff printed in this rag of a newspaper, against President Obama, Ted Strickland and Charlie Wilson, then that of any republican holding office.
I agree, that the only way to hold this paper accountable, is to not renew. Maybe we should contact the local democratic party, and get their mailing lists, and urge all democrats, not to subscribe to this Right Wing Piece of Junk.
Once we put them out of business, then we might be able to get a reliable paper, that does not side with the right wing extremists.

Michael Combs Marietta Ohio, USA | Posted at 2:58pm on Monday, December 7th, 2009 | We have an editor, who considers herself the moral guardian of the community. If someone submits an article to the letter to the editor, and it does not coincide with her right wing believes, it does not get published.
I am about to solve that problem, by not renewing my paper, as it comes due the end of December.

JIM REIMER ALTOONA, PA | Posted at 5:41pm on Thursday, September 24th, 2009 | UNTIL I LOOKED IT UP I THOUGHT THE ALTOONA MIRROR WAS OWNED BY RUPERT MURDOCK AND NOT ROBERT NUTTING. THE NEWS IT PRINTS IS SO CONSERVATIVE AND BIASED ITS ALMOST LIKE WATCHING FOX NEWS

Alan J Porter Pittsburgh Pa USA | Posted at 10:51am on Monday, March 2nd, 2009 | This man is the scourge of the newspaper industry in many states, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Seven Spring Ski area both located in Pennsylvania.
With a carpetbagger mentality, and the values of an old school WV coal baron he is wringing the dollars out his customers with little regard for their needs or input.
Please vote with your dollars and let this dinosaur style of business rethink it's future!!!

Rebecca Sinclair Wheeling, West Virginia | Posted at 8:20am on Saturday, February 7th, 2009 | I would like to contact Robert Nutting but am unable to find an email address anywhere. I've discovered that his sales staff in the Wheeling market share a computer. Hey, it's the 21st Century people!! You can buy laptops for a song! Also tried to get information on listing my new business in their EZ to Use Big Book but low and behold, there is no contact via email on that site. I'm having second thoughts about doing business with this firm.

Dick Kalfus Cape Coral, Florida | Posted at 4:41pm on Wednesday, February 4th, 2009 | I read a number of Ogden Newspapers and find them to be professional in content. The staff is courteous, informative, objective, and very cooperative. The Breeze, especially, is led editorially by, in my opinion, a true journalism professional.

Samantha Vanstrom Jamestown, NY | Posted at 9:59am on Thursday, January 29th, 2009 | I moved to the Jamestown, NY area a year and a half ago and have never witnessed an edition of the Jamestown Post-Journal that did not contain obvious and insulting grammatical errors. The writing has been sub-par, and the editing even worse. I frequently find errors in even the headlines. Despite my, and many others', complaints and corrections, it seems no one at the paper cares too much to put out a decent paper.
