Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP (MDP) is a publicly traded company based in Des Moines, Iowa. It has two divisions, publishing and broadcasting. The company owns 14 television stations and 1 radio station. The publishing division includes popular magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies' Home Journal.

In June 2005, Meredith purchased Fitness, Parents, Child and Family Circle magazines from Bertelsmann's Gruner + Jahr USA, for $350 million.

Edwin Thomas Meredith founded the company in 1902 when he began publishing Successful Farming magazine. The Meredith family remains in control of half of the company. 2004 sales were $1.162 billion.

I have just received a gift subscription to Better Homes and Gardens. While I appreciate the sentiment, this isn't a magazine that is useful to me. Looking at the list of Meredith-owned publications, I would be DELIGHTED to regularly read Fitness Magazine. Is there any way I can change my subscription? This is the 2nd year I've been given the Better Homes gift - guess I should've been candid about how I little I appreciate this (it goes directly from my mail box into the recycle bin, never entering the house).
