Herald Media Inc.

Patrick Purcell is the CEO of Herald Media Inc..

Herald Media is controlled by Patrick J. Purcell, who is also the publisher of the Boston Herald.

In May 2006, Herald Media sold its Community Newspaper Company (CNC) unit to GateHouse Media (formerly Liberty Group Publishing Inc.) for $225M. CNC publishes over 100 daily and weekly newspapers in Massachusetts with a combined circulation of about 600,000.

As publisher of the Boston Herald, the Herald Media company is in direct competition with The Boston Globe owned by The New York Times Company.

The Boston Herald traces its roots back to 1813 when it was entitled The Daily Advertiser, serving the Boston area focusing on a wealthy Republican audience. The newspaper became the "Herald" in 1846. The original single sheet, two-sided paper sold for a penny.

Today's Boston Herald came into existence on December 20, 1982, when Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corporation, bought it from the Hearst Corporation and changed its name from the Herald American back to the Boston Herald. Purcell bought the newspaper from News Corporation in 1994.

Annual sales were reported at $105 million in 2004.

So Mike white, Bill Clinton and Obama aren't from other states? Please!

You need to get the facts before you post.

But since you are engaged in the "2 party finger-pointing game", I can only guess that you are a blind faith rubber-stamp Dem, so I expect you to be ignorant of facts.

Say it with me; "All Politicians Are Crooks Until Proven Otherwise"! The sooner we start thinking this way, the sooner our country can start back on the right path.
