Gruner + Jahr USA

Gruner + Jahr USA is owned by Bertelsmann AG.

Until the middle of 2005 Gruner + Jahr USA was a leading American magazine publisher, selling nearly 200 million magazines annually. In June of 2005, the company sold most of its American magazines to Meredith Corporation for $350 million -- Parents, Child, Fitness and Family Circle magazines.

A few weeks after the Meredith sale, billionaire Joe Mansueto, founder of Morningstar Inc., paid $35 million to buy Fast Company and Inc. magazines from Gruner + Jahr USA. Gruner + Jahr had bought these magazines five years earlier for a total of $550 million -- Inc. from Bernard Goldhirsch for $200 million and Fast Company from Mortimer Zuckerman for $350 million.

With these sales, Gruner + Jahr is no longer active in the American media market.

I have a copy of the June/July 2000 New premier issue of a magazine called "Home Sweet Home" In the kitchen-All Around the House. Has this magazine been discontinued? If not, how can I subscribe to it.

A TIMES INVESTIGATION; HAULING DANGER, COURTING DISASTER; Common trailers in untrained or careless hands can become unguided missiles, hurtling toward the defenseless. Rules are rarely enforced.

This story ran the front page of the LA times on Dec. 9 2007 and received tons of feedback. Since that story a company has came out with a new coupler that eliminates human error when attaching a trailer to a tow vehicle.

The gentleman that wrote the story have left the Times due to an ownership change. Great chance for someone to pick up where they left off.

Great press opportunity here to show what is being done to correct the problem. The name of the company is Quickbite Couplers in North Carolina. You can even see a copy of the LA Times story on their website at www.quickbitecouplers.com
