Golf for a CAUSE/ Tee off for CANCER
Calling All Golfers, Cancer supporters, Sponsors or Vendors to participate in the golf outing for the Deborah Green Boone Cancer Foundation, formerly known as the National Women of Colors Cancer Foundation.

The Deborah Green Boone Cancer Foundation, a non-profit agency, grew out of the desire to enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors and their caregivers. The aspiration of this organization was to promote additional happiness and well being in the lives of cancer survivors and prolong the length and quality of life for both cancer survivors and their caregivers.

Deborah Green- Boone, the founder and a breast cancer survivor, along with other breast cancer survivors/supporters, established The National Women of Colors Cancer Foundation (NWCCF) in April 2, 2002. In an effort to honor Deborah’s initiatives, the Board of Trustees of the NWCCF decided to change the name from the National Women of Colors Cancer Foundation to the Deborah Green Boone Cancer Foundation.

In 2010- 2011, Deborah lost her mother and six of her friends to cancer. The grief was compounded when she was informed that another friend had received information that her cancer had returned and subsequently the friend committed suicide.


Even though we got a late start on organizing this golf outing, we profoundly thank the Greater Cincinnati Golfers and other supporters for their partnership in hosting our first annual golf outing.

The outing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Maketewah Country Club. The cost is $135 per person and includes 18 holes, power cart, lunch, use of driving range, putting green and most on- course activities and more. This format is a 4- person scramble (men/women).

Registration starts at 7-8am and shotgun start at 9:00 am. Deadline for golf registration is Tuesday, May 15, 2012. If you want to support us but not golf, you can have lunch with us. Lunch only is $ 40 per person, which can be sent to the Deborah Green Boone Cancer Foundation. Deadline for lunch is Friday, May 11, 2012.

„« This last year the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation enjoyed nearly filling our 144 spots at Del Mar Country Club, and thank Madeleine Pickens for her generosity in "underwriting us", and Gene Littler our "celebrity golfer" as well! We'd like to let you know that the 2011 "The Mike Philbin Annual Memorial Charity Golf Tournament" (fund raiser) is scheduled for September 26, 2011 at the Del Mar Country Club this year.
