Cox Newspapers was one of America's top newspaper publishers. At one time, it published 17 daily and 30 non-daily newspapers and also ran the Cox News Service, which supplies news stories and photos to the newspaper industry. The company also operated direct mail businesses, distributed classified advertising publications, customized newsletters and owned part of a newsprint manufacturing business.
