Can you please make a change to the volume of your Optimum Online television commercials. They are so loud, you can't even have a normal conversation. It is extremely annoying have to adjust the TV volume every time your commercial airs. I thought a law was passed to require a standard volume for all TV commercials? I would appreciate it if you would address this issue.

Fox-Cablevision Dispute May Obstruct Customers’ View of World Series

-- The New York Times reported on October 24, 2010:

"The feud between Cablevision Systems Corporation and the News Corporation has already resulted in an extraordinarily long blackout of programming. Now it threatens to shut Cablevision customers out of the World Series.

The News Corporation’s Fox and local stations in the New York metropolitan area have been blacked out for more than a week in the three million homes served by Cablevision. The negotiators have dug in their heels; the two sides have not spoken to each other since Thursday afternoon.

More than just the tens of millions of dollars in payments that Cablevision makes to the News Corporation are at stake. The dispute is also about the government’s role in the battles over Americans’ access to television channels — battles that seem to be happening more often as stations envision higher fees as a substitute for declining advertising revenue. A long blackout increases the pressure on local and federal lawmakers alike."

Cablevision Systems Corporation announced on July 30, 2009 that its board of directors has authorized the company's management to move forward with the spin-off of the Madison Square Garden (MSG) business to Cablevision stockholders.

The transaction would be structured as a tax-free pro rata spin-off to Cablevision's existing shareholders and is expected to be completed by year-end 2009, subject to necessary approvals.

Once the spin-off is complete, Cablevision shareholders would own shares in both Cablevision and the new MSG, which would allow shareholders to more clearly evaluate each of the separate company's assets and future potential. It is anticipated that the spin-off would be in the form of a pro rata distribution to all shareholders of Cablevision, with holders of Class A common stock receiving Class A shares in Madison Square Garden and holders of Class B common stock receiving Class B shares in Madison Square Garden.

Both Cablevision and the new MSG would be controlled by the Dolan family through their ownership of Class B shares. Cablevision also reiterated that it is not considering the sale of MSG, any of MSG's businesses or any other Cablevision business at this time.

Following the spin-off, James Dolan would become Executive Chairman of the new, public Madison Square Garden and would continue in his present role as President and CEO of Cablevision. Hank Ratner would be President and CEO of Madison Square Garden, and would remain Cablevision's Vice Chairman. Charles Dolan would continue in his role as Cablevision's Chairman.

I am very disappointed seeing John McCain hosting the Memorial Day war classics. In my opinion, he was and still is a traitor to his country.

I am amazed that after repearted requests I am unable to pursuade customer services Dept with CableVision to discount my monthly bill $20. The person indicated they will be fired and would rather loose me as a customer to Fios. I am sure Mr. Dolan have a different views related to retention of existing customers.

I find that the constant appearance of clips for upcoming shows that appear at the bottom of the TV screen while watching movies on AMC is major annoyance. So much so that I am seriously considering dropping AMC from my watched network.
It is especially annoying when these popups appear when there is dialog written across the bottom of the screen when a language is being translated into english and can not be read because of it. I'm certain that I am not alone in this belief. If one is a regular viewer of AMC, he or she will know what programs are scheduled and certainlydoesn't need to be reminded with these constant annoyances.
