Adams Business MediaAdams Business Media (ABM), a property of Great Hill Partners (Boston, Massachusetts), sold the last of its media holdings and closed down in May 2006. Adams was a business-to-business communications company offering print and electronic media products, serving a range of industries including retail, petroleum, landscaping and jewelry. In October 2005, M2Media360 of San Francisco, California (formerly Bev-A1 Communications) purchased the geospatial, horticultural and fine jewelry business units of Adams Business Media. Included were eight magazines, one newsletter, an annual conference, two web sites, a custom publishing division and two directories. The acquired magazines included GeoWorld, JQ (Jewelry Quorum), Arbor Age, Landscape & Irrigation, Outdoor Power Equipment and SportsTurf. Two other titles acquired in that deal, California Fairways and Golfscape Resources, were merged and converted into an online presence, GreenMedia.com. In May 2006, M2Media 360 acquired the remaining publishing assets of Adams, including the company's Retail and Petro Groups, producers of Specialty Coffee Retailer, Professional Candy Buyer, Candy Business, Tobacco Retailer and National Petroleum News (NPN). No terms of the deal were given. M2Media 360 also produces Beverage Dynamics, published nine times a year for owners/managers of liquor stores, Stateways, a bimonthly for commissioners, board members and company executives in liquor control states, and Wine & Spirit Industry Marketing, a bimonthly magazine for liquor industry marketers.
